It has been an action-packed year for us, full of hosting international musicians, artists, actors, writers, language learners, and other guests. We were in Florida among palm trees in February in our camper van.

When we returned home in April, we hosted some volunteers and organized an Art Walk. Our wider community members brought their projects to display and we sold a lot of things to each other. It didn't matter that we were a small group. What mattered was that we took inspiration from each other.

We focused on sustainability. We made art from junk, tried to be as plastic free and zero waste as possible, and organized a couple of swap meets during our events. In a swap meet, you bring some useful items you no longer need and trade them for items you can use. Anything that is left over is donated.

In June, we traveled with our pups in the van to Canada for six weeks but returned home in time for Hippie Fest, which is always the third weekend in August. Volunteers again arrived to help us for a fun festival with vintage 60's and 70's concert footage projected on a big screen, camping, tie dye classes, vegan food, morning stretches, acoustic and electric jams, and a drum circle to close out the weekend.

Fall cleanup time began in mid-October, and another group of volunteers came to help us. It was a beautiful and unseasonably warm fall, and a lot of painting projects got done. Furniture upcycling, sewing and needle crafts, soap making, music and art occupied a lot of our time.

And just like that, the winter arrived. An early snow storm hit us just before Thanksgiving, a tree fell and nearly hit the trailer, but we are all safe and good. We decided to decorate early for Christmas this year! Harvey the giant Christmas jade tree decided to flower this year. Zoom in to see his flowers, a natural decoration. We want to wish everyone healthy and happy holidays. Let's unite in peace and love.
