The birds are singing and so are we! Friday night electric jams at The Culture Palette are back, every other week, starting April 4.
We also added a late-Saturday-afternoon-into-evening electric jam, every other week, starting April 12.

There's an Espresso Yourself acoustic jam and coffee house on Tuesday evening, April 15, and you might also find an impromptu jam happening after Thursday night Community Kitchen (see below).
This is a no-judgment zone, and we welcome musicians of all levels. Just sign up on the web site form with your name, email address and phone number and we'll contact you with all the details.
April is also jam-packed with classes, including tie dye, cooking, clothing upcycling and soap making. Check out the Events Calendar. In these days of economic uncertainty, we want to bring classes to the community that teach sustainability and self sufficiency.
We're keeping it free, but donations are appreciated to keep us up and running.

Our "Sew-cial" Social on Earth Day, April 22, will focus on clothing. Bring up to 10 good clothing items that no longer serve you to trade for clothing items that neighbors and friends bring to trade. Include a clothing item that you want to keep, but perhaps it needs repair, or it's too old fashioned. We'll show you how to upcycle it! We've got all the sewing supplies. There's really no need to buy into fast fashion when it's so easy to refresh, redesign and repair your clothes. T-shirts and pants that are too tight or too loose can be altered to fit you perfectly. Turn an old sheet into a skirt or a pair of old jeans into a backpack.
On Thursdays, we have our Community Kitchen and Pot Luck Dinner. There are many here among us with no cooking experience or time to cook, so this type of cooperation can really help. If you want to participate in the cooking class, come at 4 PM. Or just bring a dish and a beverage to share at the Pot Luck starting at 6:30 PM. There are usually a lot of leftovers for folks to bring home!

In other news, we have some interesting projects planned for spring: a do-it-yourself bamboo fence, a greenhouse made from rescued bunk beds, lots of spring vegetable planting and composting. We try to reuse and recycle almost everything and keep things out of the landfill. I think a community garage sale may be coming our way, too.
Hope to see you at one of our Events soon!
